The US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the federal agency that analyzes energy data for the US government, recently released its Annual Energy Outlook for 2023. The report is a review of energy trends in the United States and includes projections of how those trends may change in the future. Newell—also a former administrator of the EIA—breaks down how the models described in the Annual Energy Outlook incorporate provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act and how the Inflation Reduction Act may affect the future of the US energy industry.
