Carbon dioxide removal, an umbrella term for any process that takes carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, is crucial for meeting global climate goals, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. At the moment, the global capacity to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is limited.
