Americans widely support government action to tackle climate change—but support for some specific policies that reduce emissions has dropped since 2020. In this In Focus video, Stanford University Professor and Resources for the Future (RFF) University Fellow Jon Krosnick helps break down the findings from a new report, which examines American opinions on specific federal government policies and policy proposals ahead of the election.
The report is the second in the Climate Insights 2024 series. Since 1997, Krosnick and other RFF researchers have tracked views held by Americans about climate change as part of the Climate Insights survey project. Find out how these views have changed over time.
